FabLab based concept as a way to social inclusion ( NGO sector)

FabLab based concept in still new in Poland, therefore we are pleased to announced that the first EEA Funded NGO project has been just lunched. play In the framework of the project  “ Social innovation for supporting dysfunctional families”  we are going to adapt FabLab methodology  and create two workshops (FabLab) to be used by kids ( aged 5-15 ) who are in serious risk of social exclusion. IDN  as a Partner from Norway, where FabLab concept is known, is going to share the experience and  help to successfully implement the idea . We wish that the ” FabLabs”  will become one of importnat the facilitators of local development and that they will create an opportunity for joined actions for the shareholders – administration, entreprenurs and educational institutions.  The project is going to be located in Warsaw,  in the area where the percentage of exluded ( or in the risk of exclusion) is relatively higher than in other  neighbourhoods in Polish capital.

In the project we are going to fulfil the basic needs of young tenants but by creating FabLab space also to increase technical competences to be used in adult life. We hope that the places we are going to create within the project will become one of the important facilitator of local development. Project is going to be located in Warsaw, in the area ( Prague North) where the percentage of excluded is relatively higher than in other quarters.

Project is lead by Catholic Anti-Narcotic Movement ( www.karan.pl) which since 30 years has been involved in various action for groups excluded from the society.
